Cornerstone Montessori School is licensed by the Colorado Department of Human Services to care for 130 children, ages 18-months through 6 years during the academic school year, and children ages 18-months through 15 years during summer camp. We are proud of the longevity of our teachers and support staff and the broad array of educational backgrounds and experiences they bring to the classrooms. We offer full, extended, and half-day programs ranging from three to five consecutive days per week. We are open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Cornerstone Montessori School is a non-discriminatory, non-sectarian school, dedicated to providing quality care and education to the children of our community. Our programs of enrollment are built upon the foundation of the Montessori Method of Early Childhood Education as developed by Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952). Our programs are designed to help each child reach her/his fullest potential and to encourage her/his natural curiosity and love of learning. Our carefully prepared learning environments help children develop concentration, coordination, and independence as well as social and problem-solving skills in a non-competitive environment. Respect for the child is our utmost goal, and we try to instill importance of respect for self, respect for others, and respect for the environment. Children are encouraged to explore all areas of the classroom including Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Science, Geography, and Art. Spanish and Music are included in our curriculum for all children. An optional Gymnastics class is also offered on Tuesday afternoons for an extra fee. All children bring their lunches each day, rest time and naps are available for children who stay through the afternoon. All children have playground time each day and a healthy snack is offered to all children in the morning (9:30 AM), and twice during the afternoons (2:30 and 4:30 PM). |
