Anyone having a child enrolled at Cornerstone Montessori School is automatically
a member of the Cornerstone Parent Guild. The primary goal of the Cornerstone
Montessori School Parent Guild is to support enrichment and social activities
for the children and parents of our school, and to coordinate parent volunteer
efforts. Enrichment activities include, but are not limited to, sponsoring plays, musicians, storytellers, dancers, cultural programs, and a variety of educational programs for the Cornerstone students. Parent Guild sponsors many events during the year to foster community. Examples of these are:
Parent Guild distributes a coupon book called, "Tickets for Time" at the beginning of each school year to help coordinate volunteer efforts for Cornerstone. Families may volunteer to help with specific activities or donate items for school functions according to their preferences and as their schedules permit. Parent Guild also coordinates various fundraising efforts to support the enrichment and social events for the school. Some of these fundraisers include the Barnes & Noble Book Fair and the holiday wreath sale. Through the Parent Guild's fundraising events, they have funded Orff music instruments for the Cornerstone music program, equipment for the Cornerstone playground, provided continuing education for the Cornerstone staff, provided student scholarships, and contributed to the Cornerstone building fund to help with school building renovations and additions. |
