"If the child is absorbed in a harmless activity we must not interrupt, even if her task seems pointless or contrary to our wishes. For the child must always be able to finish a cycle of activity on which his/her heart is set."

Carrie, Teacher
Carrie Brothers has been teaching Kindergarten at Cornerstone Montessori School since 1988. Originally from Rhode Island, she graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in zoology. She taught outdoor programs to school aged children until she moved to Colorado. Carrie attended the University of Colorado and received her teaching certificate in 1987. She also has many years of training in Montessori education and early childhood education.

Malu, Montessori/Spanish Immersion Teacher
Malu Sanchez has been working at Cornerstone Montessori School since June 2006.  Her native language is Spanish, giving her the opportunity to work in our Spanish Immersion Program.  Malu moved to the United States from Mexico.  She has a degree in Management.  Malu’s previous work experience includes working with people in the Human Resources Department of a mining company in Mexico.  Malu earned her Montessori certification in May 2009 through the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies in Boulder, Colorado.  Malu enjoys giving Montessori lessons and introducing the Spanish language to the children through all areas of daily activities.  This provides the children with the opportunity to gain more vocabulary by applying it to all of the materials in the classroom.  Malu is coordinating the Spanish Language program at Cornerstone Montessori School, working and collaborating with the Spanish teachers in the preschool classrooms.  She enjoys working with people because working together as a team gets better results.
