Jennifer, Teacher
Jennifer is currently lead teacher in the NorthEast preschool classroom.  She was employed at Cornerstone Montessori School in 2003-2004 as a classroom assistant.  Jennifer left to pursue other endeavors and returned to Cornerstone when she began taking her Montessori training course through Montessori Centre International (MCI) in January 2006.  She also has a degree in Psychology with a focus in African American studies from the University of Virginia.  Jennifer has worked with children of all ages, and also has experience as a behavioral therapist for autism and counseling at-risk youth.

Jennifer loves working in the classroom and sharing those moments of enlightenment with the children; when “I can’t” becomes “I can” or when a child discovers an area of learning in which s/he is interested.  For Jennifer, it is truly a pleasure to take part in the development of learning and personality which unfolds in the preschool environment.

With her free time, Jennifer enjoys hiking, backpacking, photography, climbing, mountain biking, and spending time with friends and family.

Thea Meinen, Montessori Teacher
Hello! My name is Thea Meinen.  I am the co-lead Montessori teacher in the Northeast classroom. I am new to Cornerstone, as well as Colorado. I moved here in the summer of 2009.

I was born in Canada, but grew up in the Washington D.C. metro area of Fairfax, Virginia with my older brother and younger sister. I owe my love to teaching young children to my grandmother and mother, who both ran pre-schools in Vienna Virginia, where I spent many years working as an afternoon supervisor and substitute teacher, and doing puppet shows. While taking early childhood classes in college, I discovered the Montessori philosophy which was something I quickly became passionate about. I took the AMS (American Montessori Society) training with the Northern Virginia Montessori Institute and interned at the Montessori School of McLean. I enjoy biking, skiing, traveling, painting and spending time with family and friends. I am so blessed to have found Cornerstone and am so happy to be here in Colorado!

Gaby Bresciani, Bilingual Classroom Assistant
My name is Gabriela Bresciani. I'm from Peru and have lived in Colorado for since 2002. I began working with children in Peru when I was in high school, tutoring elementary aged children. I attended the University of San Martin de Porres and studied Communication Sciences, Tourism, and Psychology for 5 years and one year of study in Accounting. I worked for two years as an assistant teacher kindergarten in a Peruvian - German school in Peru. I worked for Jefferson County Public Schools teaching an after school elementary Spanish Program. Since 2006, I have had the opportunity to work for Cornerstone Montessori School as a bilingual assistant. I worked in the Toddler Classroom for 3 years and now I am an assistant and teaching Spanish in a preschool classroom. I really enjoy being with the children and teaching them the Spanish language.
