Jennifer Dennehy
Teacher

I was born in California in 1970. My family moved to Colorado in 1984. After high school, I moved to San Francisco and studied French at San Francisco State College. That was fun. I moved back to Colorado and earned certification in Urban Horticulture at Front Range Community College. In 1996 I got married and moved to Southwest Colorado. At Fort Lewis College in Durango I studied Ecology, Spanish and Art. During this time I worked as a horticulturist at the beautiful Blue Lake Ranch and Iris field in Hesperus Colorado. I enjoyed lots of skiing and hiking in this area of the state. In 1999 I moved back to the Denver area and shared the birth of my joyful daughter Juniper Rose Elise. After Juniper graced us with her presence I became interested in different child development philosophies. When I read about Maria Montessori’s beautiful philosophy I felt like I‘d come home. I worked as an assistant at Montessori of Conifer, took my training at Montessori Education Center of the Rockies and got my Associate’s Degree in Child Development. I co-taught at Montessori School of Evergreen for three years. After finding Cornerstone Montessori, I feel, once again, like I’ve come home. My partner Charlie, Juniper, and I enjoy gardening, biking, hiking and camping at our Yurt outside of Buena Vista. Life is Good. (Catchy, maybe I’ll make it my slogan :o)
